FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Grounding?

The ground beneath your feet offers more than just food, water, and a place to move around. Surprisingly, it also supplies electrons. When your body makes direct contact with the earth, these electrons flow into you, creating a state called "grounding." GroundingHome products allow you to stay connected to these beneficial electrons even when you're indoors, whether you're sleeping, working, or simply relaxing. Using our indoor solutions to maintain your connection with the Earth is known as "Grounding."

Is Grounding New?

Grounding is not new: Throughout history, people naturally connected with the Earth by walking barefoot, sitting, and sleeping on animal skins, even turning those skins into footwear. This close connection allowed our ancestors to continually absorb the Earth’s beneficial energy.

However, as society has become more "advanced," we've unintentionally isolated ourselves from the Earth. Today, most people spend their days indoors, disconnected from the Earth's natural energy. At GroundingHome, our mission is to inspire people to reconnect. We advocate regularly stepping outside and touching the ground with bare feet. Additionally, we've developed innovative products to help you maintain your connection to the Earth's energy, even while sleeping, working, or relaxing indoors.

What is the technology behind Grounding products?

The technology behind GroundingHome products is straightforward. Each item is made with conductive materials, like silver threads woven through the sleep systems, that allow Earth’s energy to reach your body. This happens through a grounding cord that connects either to the ground port of a standard outlet or to a GroundingHome Grounding Rod. The products are safe, long-lasting, and available at various affordable price points. At GroundingHome.com, you’ll find the grounding solution that fits perfectly into your daily routine!

Are GroundingHome Products Necessary?

GroundingHome products offer a simple and safe way to stay grounded for more hours each day.In the past, humans lived in constant contact with the Earth. They walked barefoot, wore conductive leather footwear, and slept on animal hides placed directly on the ground. This was the natural way of life—always connected to the Earth. But that’s no longer how we live.

Today, we rarely walk barefoot, except maybe at the beach. We wear insulating shoes and sleep in raised beds inside well-insulated homes, cutting ourselves off from the Earth's natural energy.

How regularly should I ground myself?

Ideally, you should ground yourself every day, even if just for 20 to 30 minutes. The more consistently and frequently you do it, the better the benefits. You can ground yourself as often and as much as you want! It’s impossible to be grounded too long.

When will I start noticing the effects of grounding?

Our body naturally conducts free electrons very well. Our research has shown that this electron movement travels through the body at a measurable pace. For example, it can take about 20 to 30 minutes for the effects to reach the upper body, like the shoulders, while areas closer to the ground, like the knees, respond more quickly. How grounding impacts the body can differ from person to person. Some feel immediate results, while others may need several days or even weeks of regular grounding before noticing clear benefits. The type of grounding used and the specific issue being addressed also play a role in how soon and how strongly effects are felt.

Can I ground with my shoes on?

Most modern shoes have soles made from plastic or rubber, which block the flow of the Earth's natural energy.

However, shoes with leather or hide soles—or specially made conductive or anti-static footwear—can allow grounding, but only if you're walking on a surface that also conducts electricity.

It’s important to know that dry leather isn’t naturally conductive. But when it becomes damp—either from foot sweat or moisture from the ground—it can allow the Earth’s energy to pass through into your body. Thinner leather soles work better for this than thick ones, as they let moisture pass through more easily and improve conductivity.

Is there a difference between grounding myself outside and using GroundingHome products?

No, GroundingHome products are made to deliver the same flow of electrons to your body as you'd get from standing barefoot directly on the Earth.

GROUNDINGHOME (FITTED) BEDSHEETS QUESTIONS

What materials are The GroundingHome bedsheets made of?

Our GroundingHome bedsheets are thoughtfully made from a soft and breathable blend of 95% premium cotton and 5% silver. The silver threads act as the conductive element, allowing the sheet to ground your body effectively. Thanks to the innovative grid-style weave, the Earth’s beneficial electrons can flow smoothly from the sheet to your skin.

We place a strong emphasis on both comfort and performance. That’s why in developing our GroundingHome bedsheets, we chose to use a higher cotton content, so the sheet feels soft and gentle on bare skin, with no scratchy sensation. This way, you can enjoy all the grounding benefits without sacrificing comfort. Our goal is to make grounding an easy and pleasant part of your daily life.

Can I use the bedsheets all year round?

Absolutely, winter is an ideal time to use indoor grounding products. Instead of braving the cold, you can stay warm and comfortably grounded right from inside your home!

Can I put my own sheet over the GroundingHome bedsheet?

For the best results, grounding is most effective when your bare skin touches the grounded GroundingHome products directly.

Although a small amount of the Earth's energy can pass through thin, slightly moist layers, direct skin contact is still the most reliable method—even a single fingertip can be enough outdoors.

We recommend not placing another sheet over your Grounding bedsheet, as it could reduce conductivity. Our Grounding bedsheets are designed to be soft and comfortable for sleeping, and regular washing helps maintain their performance.

Is it still possible to sleep with my pyjama?

Yes, you can absolutely wear pyjamas while sleeping on GroundingHome bedsheets. Although direct skin contact enhances the grounding effect, you don’t need to sleep without clothes. Light sleepwear is totally fine, as long as some part of your skin, like your feet, legs, or arms, touches the bedsheet.

That said, having bare skin directly on the grounding surface can offer more focused benefits, especially for areas of the body that may need extra support or faster recovery.

For best results, we recommend placing the grounding bedsheet directly on your mattress or bedding without another sheet covering it. This ensures optimal contact and conductivity.

In short: wear whatever is comfortable, just make sure some part of your skin touches the grounding sheet while you sleep to get the most out of it.

What’s the best way to clean by GroundingHome bedsheet?

Your GroundingHome bedsheets are woven with silver threads, which are naturally antibacterial and resistant to odors. This means they don't need to be washed as often as regular sheets. However, it's still important to clean them regularly to remove sweat and skin oils, as buildup can reduce conductivity.

What to do:

  • Wash your sheets about twice a month, or more often if needed.
  • Hand washing is best, but a gentle machine wash cycle is also fine.
  • Always use cold water.
  • Let the sheets air dry, avoid tumble drying.
  • After applying lotions or oils, wait at least an hour before making skin contact with the sheet.

What to avoid:

  • Never use bleach or fabric softeners.
  • Avoid detergents with whitening agents or "oxi" additives.
  • Don’t use detergents with oils like coconut or lavender.
  • Skip dryer sheets.
  • Don’t apply body lotions or oils right before going to bed.
  • Do not iron or tumble dry the sheet.

Using any of the above products or methods can damage the silver fibers and affect the sheet's ability to conduct the Earth’s energy. By following these care tips, you'll keep your GroundingHome sheet working properly and lasting longer.

How long does my GroundingHome bedsheet last?

With the right care, our grounding sheets are built to last just as long as standard cotton bedsheets. When properly maintained, they’ll continue to deliver grounding benefits for many years.

To preserve their effectiveness, it's important to follow the included care instructions. Routine cleaning and gentle handling will help maintain their conductivity and overall quality.

You can count on these sheets to offer both comfort and durability, just like your regular bedding, while providing the added benefit of grounding for the long term.
